Hamilton Medical and Sedana Medical confirm compatibility of ventilators with Sedaconda ACD system

This collaboration follows testing by both comparnies to ensure safe and effective integration of both systems in clinical workflows.

When used in accordance with the instructions for use (IFU) provided by both manufacturers, clinicians can confidently employ the Sedaconda ACD system for inhaled sedation in intensive care settings.

Key considerations for safe and effective use

  • Resistance management: The addition of the ACD system - similar to heat and moisture exchangers (HMEs) - may increase resistance in the ventilator circuit. Clinical teams should monitor airway resistance and adjust ventilator settings as needed to maintain optimal performance.
  • Proper connections: Only the reccommended connectors and sampling lines specified in the IFUs should be used to ensure reliable and safe operation.
  • Operational guidelines and maintenance: Users must follow both Hamilton Medical and Sedana Medical protocols for setup, operation, and maintenance.

Compliance and support

Integration of these devices must always adhere to local regulatory requirements and hospital-specific protocols. For any configuration questions or technical support, please refer to the IFUs or contact the support team at either Hamilton Medical and Sedana Medical. We are proud to support clinicians in advancing patient care by offering compatible solutions for inhaled sedance that enhance both safety and operational efficiency in intensive care environments.
